The NORDVIK GC Series gyratory crusher is engineered for the most demanding primary crushing duties in mining, metallurgy, construction and hydropower. A deep, large-diameter crushing chamber accepts run-of-mine feed of 1,000 – 1,500 mm and driven by 450 – 1,500 kW motors delivers 5,000 – 17,000 t/h of continuous reduction. The robust cast-steel main frame, hydraulic mainshaft support and top-serviceable wear liners keep the world's largest surface and underground operations producing around the clock.

How it works

Working Principle

A gyratory crusher operates on a spider-mounted mainshaft with a crushing head that gyrates eccentrically inside a fixed concave crushing chamber. Material entering at the top is progressively crushed as the head moves toward and away from the concave wall, with reduction continuing until the product falls through the discharge opening. The continuous gyrating action delivers higher throughput per unit of energy than a jaw crusher of equivalent feed size, making it the most economical choice for very high-capacity primary stations.

What is the maximum feed size of the GC series?
The largest model, GC 70-89, accepts feed up to 1,780 mm. Across the range, feed openings run from 1,066 to 1,575 mm, matched to your blast fragmentation.
How is the closed side setting adjusted?
The GC Series uses a hydroset system: hydraulic fluid beneath the mainshaft piston raises or lowers the crushing head, changing the setting in seconds — under load if required.
Can the GC crusher be installed underground?
Yes. The main frame splits into transportable sections that can be lowered through shafts and reassembled in underground chambers.
What is the delivery time for a GC gyratory crusher?
