How it works

Working Principle

The PB VSI accelerates feed material through a high-speed deep rotor and ejects it against a rock-lined crushing chamber. Rock-on-rock impact fractures particles along their natural fissures, producing a cubical, well-graded product. A portion of the feed can bypass the rotor as a controlled cascade into the chamber, letting the operator fine-tune capacity and gradation without changing rotor speed.

Applications

Applications

Manufactured sand

Premium concrete sand from 0 – 50 mm crusher dust or gravel, replacing scarce natural sand.

Aggregate shaping

Final shaping of cone-crushed product to meet strict flakiness and cubicity specifications.

Road & asphalt materials

High-polish-value chippings and asphalt aggregates with excellent particle shape.

Ore pre-grinding

Fine crushing ahead of ball mills, reducing grinding energy (more crushing, less grinding).

Industrial minerals

Sizing of glass sand, frac sand and similar high-specification mineral products.

Materials

River gravel, granite, basalt, limestone, quartz, crusher dust and ore pre-concentrates with feed sizes up to 50 mm.

Deep Rotor & Cascade Technology

The PB's deep-chamber rotor accepts a higher material volume per revolution than shallow rotors, converting installed power directly into throughput. Combined with rock-on-rock chamber action, it delivers premium cubical product at the lowest wear cost in its class.

The adjustable cascade bleeds a controlled portion of feed past the rotor directly into the crushing chamber. Operators tune fines content and gradation on the fly — no rotor change, no stoppage — while integrated vibration and load monitoring keeps the machine inside its safe envelope.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What feed size does a VSI require?
Maximum 50 mm (PB9000), 45 mm (PB7000) or 37 mm (PB6000), typically the product of a tertiary cone crusher.
How do I control the sand gradation?
By adjusting the cascade ratio: more cascade increases coarse fraction and capacity; less cascade gives finer, more shaped product — without stopping the machine.
What does rock-on-rock mean for wear cost?
Material largely crushes against a bed of itself, so wear parts last far longer than in anvil-type VSI crushers — the main cost advantage of the PB series.
How much sand can a PB9000 make?
Up to 775 t/h with cascade; typical manufactured-sand duty runs 263 – 500 t/h depending on feed and target fineness.
What wear parts need regular replacement?
Rotor tip sets, wear plates and the rock shelf liners — all designed for quick change with standard tools, usually within hours.
